What’s been going on? Lots and lots of development! The Villainville playtest Steam page is getting regular development announcements, with 1-2 new updates to the playtest–which went live in October 2025–each month. Recently we’ve given the game a narrative glow up, in response to players asking for more from our characters and story. See a super fast story-facing trailer showing off a bit of Villainville lore here! The next two updates will continue with this story focus as you get to know the fairy tale misfits like Too Red (former Little Red Riding Hood), Cedric (cursed Snow White huntsman), and Brier (Sleeping Beauty with insomnia), through gift-giving and quests.
In the past month we also pushed our highly addictive Whack-a-mole mini game. It’s funny how satisfying it can be to carry a big hammer and wham it on a mole’s head…perhaps something our millennia-old ancestors would understand?
Lastly, we’ve been in discussion with the press and have submitted Villainville for some festivals for this summer! The first of those happens online in April, so you’ll see Villainville in the medieval fest on Steam April 20th through the 27th. As part of these spotlights the Steam page will be getting a new game play trailer with new content revealed. Please help us build momentum by giving Villainville a wishlist and sharing the link!
